"When Your Parent Becomes Your Child" by Ken Abraham is an enlightening book about challenges of having a parent who suffers from Alzheimer's. The author gives an honest, insightful and at times heart-wrenching account of his own experience dealing with his mother's dementia.
All throughout his book, Mr. Abraham educates about the symptoms of the disease all while including some very personal stories of his mother's, as well as his and his family's, struggles. The only thing that doesn't make this book an absolutely depressing read are the accounts of this family's faith in Jesus. Even his mother continues to look to Jesus as she nears the end of her earthly life.
I found this book to be very easy to read. If Alzheimer's disease is a concern for someone in your family, I think reading this book would be a very good use of your time.
