I must say that prior to getting this book, I read one review that said the book was full of quotes from Billy Graham. I love great quotes, so I was really excited to read this book. But, the book is not a book of quotes, it is a book about preparing for the final years of our lives.
Regardless, I found that once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. Rev. Graham covers the topic of retirement and what this time of our life should look like. Being retired should not be a time of self-indulgence, but a time when we can make more of a positive impact on the lives of others. Laziness and boredom can create problems, and no matter your physical state, you can still be a productive servant for Jesus Christ.
Another topic Rev. Graham covers (briefly) is grieving our own losses as well as remembering your friends who might be grieving.
Nearing Home makes you think about the legacy you are leaving as well as reminds us of the hope we have for eternal life in heaven.
