Book Review: Humble Bumble's Humble Heart

I recently had the chance to review a children's book titled "Humble Bumble's Humble Heart: A Book of Virtues" written and illustrated by Amy Meyer Allen.

First of all, the book itself is absolutely darling.  The colors are bright.  The illustrations are not only enjoyable to look at, also but draw conversation about the virtuous topic being covered.  My only concern is that the paper is a bit thin for a children's book such as this.  I know if my children were smaller, this would be a book we would read from again and again and I'm not sure how the pages would handle that kind of "love"!

The book covers nine virtues in separate stories that are simply wonderful.  They are short enough for little people's attention spans, yet explain in a very simple manner the definition of the topic virtue.  A question is asked at the end of each story to get the young listener (and the reader!) to think if they have ever shown that virtue to others.  A Bible verse ends each story.

Although this book is clearly meant for small children, my two tweens thought it was absolutely adorable.

A great book.  I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I was provided with a free copy of this book by Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion.
