Maple Candied Walnuts

Here's a recipe for a wonderful salad topper.  The funny thing?  I don't even like walnuts.  But, I really love these little babies.  They are sooo easy to make.  And with only three ingredients, I know you're gonna love me.

It's okay.  I'm really okay with fan mail.  Really.

Maple Candied Walnuts
  • 1 T walnut or mild olive oil
  • 1/2 C walnuts, whole or coarsely chopped
  • 2-3 T pure maple syrup
  1.  Heat skillet over medium heat.  Add oil.
  2. When oil is hot, add walnuts.  Stir until toasted and fragrant.
  3. Add maple syrup.  Turn off the heat but continue to stir until the moisture has evaporated and the syrup has carmelized.
  4. Allow to cool before serving on top of your favorite salad.
