If you like onion rings, you should have been at my house last night! Tom was going to barbecue steaks and was reminiscing about some fantastic onion rings we had at an incredible restaurant while in Milwaukee this past December. Those onion rings cost $9 (yikes!) but these sure didn't...and boy did they taste good! By the way, this recipe is compliments of allrecipes.com.
Original Recipe Yield 3 servings
Ingredients
- 1 large onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk, or as needed
- 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
- seasoned salt to taste
- 1 quart oil for frying, or as needed
